Citat :
German air traffic controllers may go on strike over working hours, just as Lufthansa pilots called off a planned walkout that would have cost millions of euros.

The air traffic controllers are considering a strike after talks with their employer collapsed, a spokesman for trade union GdF said on Thursday.

There are about 1,900 air traffic controllers in Germany, and the union says another 600 are needed.

Germany's air traffic authority DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung says the air traffic controllers are pushing for staffing increases at airports with shrinking traffic.

Lufthansa's pilots on Wednesday called off plans to go on strike next week over pay and job security, paving the way for arbitration.

Cabin crew at rival British Airway recently staged two strikes over pay and jobs. The carrier and union officials have now resumed talks.
