An Australian mining company has lost six of its senior executives in a single corporate charter crash in Cameroon. Five others on board were also killed.

The EADS Casa C-212 (TN-AFA) twin turboprop, operated by Aero Service, went missing on a 19 June flight from Yaoundé to a gold mine at Yangadou near the border with Congo. When it was found two days later it was confirmed that the two pilots and nine passengers had all perished in the accident.

The aircraft had been chartered by the Cameroonian subsidiary of Australian mining company Sundance Resources. Its chief executive and managing director were lost along with four of the company's other senior executives.

The last radio contact with the C-212, 35min after take-off for the 1h 10min flight, gave no indications of problems.
